Mark Twain Book Review

I read the books Rain Reign, All Four Stars, Zane And the Hurricane, and Half A Chance. Although I like them all, out of the four I think my favorite is All Four Stars because, this young girl is passionate about something in this case cooking and even though she runs into trouble along the way, like her parents not liking that she loves to cook and hat she had to pretend to be an adult, well not only an adult but a restaurant reviewer, she is very confident about cooking, something she loves and loves a lot, so she doesn't  give up on her cooking dream. She inspires me to do something more important in life and to follow my dreams no matter what. I love that the author put in so much detail into her book and how she started with a simple idea and created a wonderful story out of it. I also like this book because I like the topic, cooking, I love the thought the author put into the story, plus I love all the planning that happens, how to get to New York, how to keep her cooking, a secret. The end of the story leaves me hanging too, will she get in trouble? How will her parents react to her secret identity? That's why I like the book All Four Stars.

The Cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz

For Halloween I was the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz

These are a few things I told people who asked who I was: I said I was the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz who went to the wizard seeking some courage. When I got there the wizard was a fraud, but he knew one thing for sure: I had the courage in me the entire time! Now I prowl the forest of Oz proud and brave as ever!

The Big Book of Boy Stuff

Are you into boy stuff? Do you ever wish there was a big non-fiction book with a variety of topics every boy loves? Well, you sure are in luck. Behold, The Big Book of Boy Stuff.

Do you want to see dumb directions on products like “If milk is mixed with poison, don’t drink milk. It will be poisonous.” Learn new recipes like cinnamon toast and grilled cheese. Have a laugh with some sick jokes and learn insults like a good friend would. Don’t answer anything in the “Rhetorical Questions” chapter. Test your stomach in the “Gross Stuff” chapter.
There’s something for everyone. Do you want to learn, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear or two (Because your laughing so hard)? If so, I highly recommend that you read The Big Book of Boy Stuff by Bart King.

Here is my source.

Winter Wonders

Enjoy my winter poem                         Winter Wonders By:Amanda

          Snowflakes are falling,

          Through the town
          Then the hail,
          Starts pounding down,
          When the children,
          Fill with fright,
          Their mothers say,
           It’s alright,
           When day time comes,
            Leave your bed,
            Don’t forget to look ahead,
            Get some snow,
             And a hat,
             Then you might make,
             Frosty come back,
             When the sun,
              Starts to shine,
              It’s the end,
              Of wintertime,
              Don’t feel gloomy,
              Don’t feel sad,
              Summertime,
              Should make you glad.

Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy

Have you read Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy? Oh, wow, you haven't? Gosh, I have to tell you about it. It is basically about a young dragon named Clay, who is part of an important prophecy along with his four other friends, Tsunami, Starflight, Sunny, and Glory. They are all from different tribes (species) and they are all supposed to stop a war. Anyway here is their prophecy:

When the war has lasted twenty years...
the dragonets will come.
When the land is soaked with blood and tears...
The dragonets will come.

Find the SeaWing egg of deepest blue.
Wings of night shall come to you.
The largest egg in the mountain high
will give to you the wings of sky.
For wings of earth, search through the mud
for an egg the color of dragon blood.
And hidden alone from the rival queens,
the SandWing egg awaits unseen.

Of three queens who blister and blaze and burn,

two shall die and one shall learn
if she bows to a fate that is stronger and higher,
she'll have the power of wings of fire.

five eggs to hatch on the brightest night,

five dragons born to end the fight.
Darkness will rise to bring the light.
The dragonets are coming...

So as you can see, Clay and his friends are really important and all that jazz. Blister, Blaze, and Burn will do anything they can to get their claws on the dragonets. Can Clay and his friends stay alive and save the world? Read Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy!
But of course, that is only the beginning of the series. I read the whole series toward the beginning of this year, and I'm telling you, it's a real page-turner! There are 8 books released so far, and a 9th coming in December! Each book is from a different perspective, but still keeps the same characters. For example the first book is told by Clay, and the second is told by Tsunami. There are also a few build-offs of the series such as Winglets and Legends. But I really do hope that you decide to start reading this series!

Ghost Dog Secrets by Peg Kehret

Do you like reading? Do you like dogs? Do you like mystery? Well you should enjoy this book. With a great story you have to like it.

A boy named Rusty is riding home when he notices a dog that is being mistreated. A few days later he went to the house with the mistreated dog and he starts feeding him and eventually starts calling him RA. His friend Andrew starts helping rusty ad names the dog with him. The reason his name is RA is because Rusty or R and  Andrew or A and the dog is being cared for by both of them so they named him RA and because RA is the god of sun which is ironic because when Rusty found him he was in the rain. And the reason most of this happens is because of a ghost dog. the reason the ghost dog is so important is because she told Rusty to feed the dog. Do not even get me started on school. Theres a bully, a puppy mill donation, and a meth lab detection to help keep them safe from bad people. Honestly this book is kinda short but worth it every time you read

I recommend this book to anyone who needs a great mystery to solve and people who like to read

What We Found In The Sofa And How It Saved The World by Henry Clark

So you enjoy reading and science fiction. Well your in luck because this book has a very deep and unique story that will surprise you and all of the book is appealing and amazing.

Honestly this is one of my favorite books because of its twist and main story. At first I was sort of confused that it was sci-fi but toward the middle of the book I found out that there was a reason to that. And the twist I will say its similar to the end of Earthbound but a little different. if you want to know the twist read the book or play earthbound. I recommend that you read the book because the game isn't exact and the game is way longer than the book. Honestly its interesting because not many books end that way or much of anything ends that way for that matter. So what I am trying to say is that this book is a great book and you should read it.

I recommend this book for anyone who loves sci-fi or just needs a break from Harry Potter. Either way its still a great book.

Out of My Mind

Melody is  a normal girl on the inside, but a little different on the outside. She can't walk, or talk, or hold things like everyone else, but in her mind, she has lots of things to say. She's sick of being in the class for "special" kids, she to go out to eat, she wants to wear the yellow shirt, not the purple. All day long wishing she had words other then the stupid phrases suck on her plastic tray attached to her wheelchair. Then, Melody finds the answer to her problems, a machine that will talk for her. Now Melody can answer questions and choose what she wants, but some people can't see past her outside, and aren't willing to take her seriously. "Out of My Mind" a great book for people wanting to hear someone like Melody's side of the story.

Stormbreaker

If you like spies, teenagers, and action with danger, the first book in the Alex Rider series is the one for you.  If you hate spoilers, don't read this and go check out the book yourself.

Alex Rider had grown up all of his life as an orphan. His parents had died at a plane crash when he was just a toddler. He had lived with Uncle Ian his whole life, with help from his uncle's American maid Jack Starbright. Ian Rider was a banker. Or, Alex thought so. When police show up to tell them that Ian Rider had died at a car crash, Alex is devastated. Then he realizes things don't fit. When he investigates, he finds his uncle's car riddled with bullet holes. And Alex learns the truth about his uncle being a MI6 agent. When he is blackmailed into working for MI6 by the head of operations Alan Blunt, he must disguise as a tech boy and go on a tour at billionaire's Herod Sayle house, and see his latest product, the Stormbreaker computer. He must figure out what Sayle is plotting, and find out who had killed his uncle.

If you like this book, read the rest of the series by author Anthony Horowitz. Or if a reluctant reader, watch the movie*.

*The name Herod Sayle is changed to Darius Sayle

Belly Up

I read the book Belly Up. The story is unique because it has a plot that other authors most likely never even had the slightest idea about. BEWARE, SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!! The main story is that Henry the hippo is dead, and the main characters Teddy and Summer are trying to figure out who killed Henry the hippopotamus. In their progress they find the weapon used and get suspects for who they think did it. In the end the man behind it all was the man who hated Henry the most, Martin. Martin wanted to get rid of Henry because he caused a lot of financial trouble, and Martin loved money. In the very end Hilda the hippo, Henry's mate, has a baby hippo named Henry Jr. and it was a great ending. My favorite part was when Teddy sneaks into the autopsy to learn more about how Henry died. I had to wait a week until I could find out what happened in the autopsy chapter because I had to wait for reading group. This made it really exciting.

The only thing I would change about this book is the artwork on the cover, it seemed too childish for what the book is about. I would suggest this book for readers who want a real challenge for reading. I would read a book by this author anytime.

Maxes book post

I read the book Poptropica Skullduggery Island. This book is about a boy named Owen who doesn't usually like sailing. What he does like is flying airships, but he knows that his dad and grandad etc., liked to sail. He went sailing to save his home from pirates and later he realizes he likes to sail. During his adventure Owen and his crew need to find a map, but the map isn't whole. The way he finds the parts of the map is when the Governor gives them hints. SPOILER ALERT! My favorite part is when Owen realized that he had the final piece of the map on his sword. I find this part interesting because it is the first time I have ever seen a map be created with part of the map on a different item, or weapon in this case. I would like the book more if it had a more unique storyline. It is mostly finding a map in different places which is one of the most commonly used ideas ever in books, movies and video games. For example, Indiana Jones movies and Legend of Zelda video game use this plot.

I would suggest this book to people who like books that are similar in plot and can be used as a slight guide for video games. Or those who just like a good book adventure. If I find another book by this author, I will probably read it.
