Stormbreaker

If you like spies, teenagers, and action with danger, the first book in the Alex Rider series is the one for you.  If you hate spoilers, don't read this and go check out the book yourself.

Alex Rider had grown up all of his life as an orphan. His parents had died at a plane crash when he was just a toddler. He had lived with Uncle Ian his whole life, with help from his uncle's American maid Jack Starbright. Ian Rider was a banker. Or, Alex thought so. When police show up to tell them that Ian Rider had died at a car crash, Alex is devastated. Then he realizes things don't fit. When he investigates, he finds his uncle's car riddled with bullet holes. And Alex learns the truth about his uncle being a MI6 agent. When he is blackmailed into working for MI6 by the head of operations Alan Blunt, he must disguise as a tech boy and go on a tour at billionaire's Herod Sayle house, and see his latest product, the Stormbreaker computer. He must figure out what Sayle is plotting, and find out who had killed his uncle.

If you like this book, read the rest of the series by author Anthony Horowitz. Or if a reluctant reader, watch the movie*.

*The name Herod Sayle is changed to Darius Sayle
